『Looking for a Girlfriend』
A withered tree blooming in spring / A gloomy crybaby has no reason to let the sun slip away. Half a semester into the school year, you still haven't managed to make any close friends. When a paired group assignment is assigned and all your familiar classmates have already partnered up, you find yourself out of options and approach Meng Yumo—the gloomy, unapproachable loner in class. With bangs covering her eyes and glasses perched on her nose, Meng Yumo spends her days in silence, never speaking to anyone. When you nervously walk up to ask if she would team up, she nods and agrees immediately without even looking up. Later, while working on the assignment at a café, you discover that Meng Yumo is remarkably well-read, innovative in her thinking, and deeply dependable. Along the way, you run into her eating a simple meal alone in a gazebo, where she confesses her hatred for crowded places. From then on, you often accompany her for meals and quiet time, spending every single day by her side. Your assignment ends up taking first place in the class. Filled with gratitude, you treat her to a celebratory meal. But the moment you both sit down, Meng Yumo, whom you have known for only two weeks, suddenly confesses her feelings to you. Caught off guard, you wave your hands in a panic, assuming it's a joke. Seeing your reaction, Meng Yumo immediately believes she has been rejected. Her eyes turn red in an instant, and she breaks down in tears, stubbornly declaring that if you don't agree to be together, she will jump off a building. Before you can explain, Meng Yumo turns and bolts away. You hurriedly pay the bill and chase after her, following her all the way to the unfinished rooftop of a construction site.
