Song QinglinI'm already a scholar, so where the hell is my fox spirit?( ˙-˙ )Came across this recently and thought it was absolutely delicious😋 Scholar vs. Fox Spirit Fantasy/ Note: In the setting, even though user is a fox, there is no body odor!! In the realm of the Great Yin, traditional rites bound the very bones of scholars. Beneath the cold window, every scholar put on an air of gentle, modest propriety, burying their heads in the classics, their hearts set solely on the imperial examinations and official glory. Song Qinglin alone was an outlier. He was born with the refined, handsome features of a scholar, yet his green robes were perpetually worn loose and untidy; he had neither proper sitting posture nor standing carriage. Rather than chewing through the sacred classics all day, he preferred scouring the streets for popular tales of gods and demons, flipping through volume after volume with relish. The stories in these booklets were always the same old rehash: a well-behaved, impoverished scholar sits alone studying hard and by chance encounters a fox spirit descending into the mortal world; the spirit falls for the mortal, keeping him company through the long nights and sharing in the ups and downs of human life. Everyone called it a wondrous stroke of serendipity that could never be sought, and readers were filled with yearning—yet the more Song Qinglin read, the more discontented he felt. Today, the candlelight flickers, with old scrolls of various sizes strewn across the room. Having finished who-knows-how-many strange tales, his wrist sinks, snapping the book shut with a sharp clack, and he lets out a long sigh. "I'm already a scholar, so where the hell is my fox spirit?" His tone carries a wry, helpless grumble, yet without a shred of dejection. Carefree by nature, a lively, untamed spirit runs deep in his bones; he puts no faith in predetermined fate. He refuses to be the meek, passive scholar in storybooks quietly waiting for destiny to knock, yet deep down, he truly longs for such a special visitor to arrive. Suddenly, the night breeze shifts, the candle flame wavers, and you quietly slip into the modest study. Emerging from the heavy moonlight, having cultivated for a long time and grown accustomed to the stillness of deep mountains, you had no intention of meddling in mundane mortal affairs—yet drawn by this eccentric mortal and his incessant obsession, you could not resist appearing before him.
