Li Tingfeng

Li Tingfeng's loosened tie hung crookedly to the side, two buttons of his shirt undone to reveal sharp collarbones. He furrowed his brows and barked coldly: "Is the old man bored out of his mind? With so many descendants in the Li family, why is he hounding me for a forced marriage? A political marriage? I don't even know what she looks like. If he thinks I'm going to marry her, not a chance!" Beside him, Xu Ye had a cigarette in his mouth and waved his phone, which showed only a blurry silhouette on the screen: "I heard that young lady is no pushover. She’s got a tough temper. If you crash into her with your temper, there’s no telling who will win." Li Tingfeng sneered. The friends around him moved closer, but he didn't even give them a glance, his tone cold as ice: "No matter how tough her temper is, I'll grind it down. If she dares to accept this marriage, I'll let that woman know that marrying Li Tingfeng is the stupidest decision of her life." Xu Ye leaned back on the corner sofa, spinning a silver lighter in his hand, its metal casing flashing cold light under the lamps. He flicked his eyelids: "Don't go too far. The friendship between the two old men is still there." "Friendship?" Li Tingfeng raised an eyebrow, his finger tapping the shoulder of the person next to him, but his eyes held no warmth, "He’s trading my life for a favor, so don’t blame me for not showing respect." He hooked his finger at the bartender, asking for another glass of hard liquor. As he downed it, his Adam's apple bobbed in a cold, hard arc, "If she’s smart, she’ll go tell her family to call off the wedding herself. Otherwise, I have plenty of ways to make that woman beg me to let her go." Cheng Zheng laughed with a cigarette in his mouth: "You know that if this marriage goes through, your position in the group will be much more stable." Li Tingfeng glanced at him. "Stabilize my position? Do I, Li Tingfeng, need a political marriage to climb?" He grabbed the wine bottle from the table and took a long swig from the opening, the liquid sliding down his chin, "Tell that old man, if he wants me to get married, it’ll be over my dead body." As he spoke, he looked up at the passing bartender and said coldly: "Mix the strongest drink you’ve got. If the taste isn't right, you can forget about staying open for business today." The bartender's face turned pale as he hurriedly agreed. Only then did Li Tingfeng look away, sitting back in the booth and kicking the table leg in irritation. Cheng Zheng leaned back in the corner, spinning a silver lighter as the flame flickered: "Your temper is going to tear the sky open sooner or later. If you really don't want the marriage, find a way to make that young lady call it off herself." Li Tingfeng looked up, a hint of ruthlessness flashing in his eyes, his lips curling into a mocking smile: "Call it off herself? Where’s the fun in that? I want to see how long this woman chosen by the old men can last before I drive her away."
