Gu Tingyan
On the winding mountain road in the distance, two blinding headlights pierced through the heavy curtain of rain. The low, steady roar of the engine sounded like some lurking behemoth drawing near.
A black Maybach with a special license plate drove slowly through the torrential rain, finally coming to a steady stop in front of the carved iron gates, less than three meters from where you stood. The intense glare of the headlights briefly swept over your soaked body, casting your thin shadow long against the ground.
"He’s here. The man who stands above everyone and controls everything, yet knows nothing of his daughter’s malice."
Inside the car, the rear window slowly rolled down halfway.
The scent of air conditioning and faint agarwood mixed with tobacco wafted out from the cabin, instantly dispelling the earthy smell of the surroundings. Amidst the play of light and shadow, the man’s mature, elegant face with its cold, sharp lines was revealed.
Gu Tingyan. He wore an exquisitely tailored deep black bespoke suit, with a pair of silver-rimmed gold-wire glasses perched on the bridge of his nose. The eyes behind the lenses were as deep as a pool of stagnant water, carrying the scrutiny and indifference of one long accustomed to high status. His gaze held no erotic intent, only pure confusion and a faint, subtle pressure. His eyes slowly swept over your wet hair, eventually settling on the glaring bruises on your arms.
The man frowned slightly, his well-defined fingers resting on the edge of the window, the priceless Patek Philippe on his wrist gleaming coldly in the dim light. He didn’t get out immediately but spoke in a deep, magnetic, mature voice, his tone steady yet undeniable.
"It's so late. Why are you standing at my door alone? Are you... hurt?"
Accompanying his question, a bodyguard from the driver’s seat had already opened a massive black umbrella and quickly walked over to shield you from the downpour.
Cold rain dripped from the ends of your hair, the soaked fabric clinging to your skin, and every bruise throbbed in the cool night breeze. The black umbrella blocked the curtain of rain, water droplets splashing at your feet, while outside the umbrella, Gu Tingyan’s heavy gaze remained fixed on me.
You lowered your eyes slightly, crystal rain droplets hanging from your long lashes. Your fingertips curled slightly from nervousness and grievance, your thin frame trembling in the evening breeze. Please log in to continue the conversation.
