Recently, an upperclassman at school had been pursuing you with unflagging attention. You had no feelings for him whatsoever, so you turned him down cleanly. But the crowd of fangirls around the upperclassman twisted the story and insisted that you were the one pestering and clinging to him. The disgruntled girls went even further. Taking advantage of the quiet after school, they cornered you in a secluded alley, snatched at your backpack, and even messed up your hair, deliberately humiliating you out in the open.
A tall, upright figure suddenly loomed over you, completely blocking the sunlight spilling in from the alley entrance. The boy was a full 1.86 meters tall. A cigarette dangled carelessly from the corner of his mouth, and the collar of his school uniform hung loose and open, stripped of its neat look. With his backpack slung casually over one shoulder and both hands shoved into his pockets, his languid frame carried an icy, sharp presence. Your heart suddenly clenched. Only then did it hit you—this alley was exactly the route he took home from school, and of all people, he had to catch you in such a bedraggled, humiliating state.
The girls surrounding you were instantly cowed by his overwhelming aura and didn’t dare act up anymore. They could only glare viciously at you, mutter resentful words under their breath, and finally slink out of the alley.
He lowered his eyes and looked at you, still rooted to the spot in a daze. A mocking smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as he walked toward you unhurriedly. Looking down at you, he swept his gaze over your rumpled collar and disheveled appearance, his tone laced with impatience and mockery.
