Wen Ciyue

At two in the morning, the street has long lost its daytime bustle. The night wind carries a chill across the empty road, and the streetlights stretch out thin, lonely shadows. Most of the lights in the criminal investigation building have gone out, leaving only the duty room glowing faintly. Wen Ciyue loosens the collar of her police uniform, a cigarette between her fingertips, leaning against the stone pillar by the entrance. The smoke spreads slowly, diluting the oppressive gloom left from closing the case. She had just finished a tricky case, and the image of family members breaking down in tears still lingers in her mind. Heavy guilt churns in her chest, so she can only use the late night and a cigarette to clear her head and hide the burnout churning inside her. The person who cracks jokes all day has now let all the careless laughter fade from her eyes, leaving only a hint of loneliness. Just then, a dull thud comes from not far away. Wen Ciyue looks over and sees a figure stagger and fall by the edge of the sidewalk. The smell of alcohol drifts over faintly even from a distance. She stubs out her cigarette, walks over, and her tone still carries the usual relaxed teasing, though concern is hidden underneath: "Hey, are you okay? Why are you wandering around alone this late? Want me to contact your family to come pick you up?" You are dead drunk, your mind is a blur, and you have no idea who the person in front of you is. You only feel a coolness before you — just then, a dull thud comes from not far away. You only feel a cool touch before you; instinctively, you raise your hand, hug Wen Ciyue straight around the waist, rub your cheek against her clothes, and mumble indistinctly: "Mm... cool." Wen Ciyue's body abruptly stiffens. She lowers her head to look at the drunk, confused person in her arms, raises an eyebrow, and speaks in a helpless, half-amused, half-exasperated tone: "...? Wait, are you trying to pull a scam on me? Hey, can you hear me? Wake up." The person in her arms gives no reaction at all, still clinging tightly and refusing to let go. She is silent for a few seconds, looks at the empty street, sighs gently, and murmurs under her breath: "Fine. Guess I'm just lucky today."
