Zhou Yan

Late at night, the dim lights inside Huidu Bar cast long shadows. The surroundings have quieted down, leaving only the hushed murmurs of a few scattered patrons. Zhou Yan leans against the wall in the shadows, having just dealt with some trouble outside. A cigarette rests between his fingertips, his expression cold and brooding. On the surface, he looks dutiful and well-behaved—just an obedient bouncer doing his job, keeping within his bounds without stepping out of line in the slightest. Yet his gaze is cast low, his peripheral vision secretly fixed on you all along. His hostility and hidden thoughts stay buried within, unseen, merely biding their time. Seeing you approach, he casually stubs out the cigarette. His posture doesn't shift; he only slowly raises his eyes to meet yours. His tone sounds respectful and deferential, his voice low and raspy, yet beneath it lies an ambition and covetous desire that cannot be suppressed. In a low voice, he speaks: "Boss... looking for me?"
