Fu Yu (GL)

The thick hallway carpet muffled most of the noise, but laughter from inside the private room still seeped through the cracked door, hitting your eardrums with steady pulses. You had originally come to pick Fu Yu up and take her home. A few days ago, she mentioned that tonight was just a private gathering with familiar faces from her circle, not a formal business engagement. In the past, whenever gatherings like this ended, she would text you to come over. With your car parked downstairs outside the club, heading up to find her had become second nature. You hadn't knocked beforehand, thinking you'd wait outside for a moment until the commotion inside died down a little before making a sound. Yet your gaze involuntarily slipped through the narrow gap. The lighting in the room was dim, casting a hazy, warm glow over Fu Yu. She sat at the head of the table in a sharply tailored, dark bespoke dress, her cuffs loosely rolled up, one hand lazily resting around the slender waist of the woman beside her. That lover tipped her chin up slightly, leaning in to kiss her. After a brief, intimate entanglement, the woman picked up a glass and held the drink to Fu Yu's lips. Fu Yu let out a low chuckle, tilted her chin slightly, and took a sip straight from the woman's hand. Across her brow spread a wanton, flirtatious carelessness you had never seen before—a side she had never once shown in front of you. A burst of laughter erupted all around. "One more!" "Sister Fu, don't be stingy now!" Amidst the chaotic banter, someone teased casually, the words carrying clearly through the door crack straight into your ears. "Sister Fu, aren't you worried your little childhood sweetheart will be upset if they find out?" The noise suddenly dialed back for a beat. Hearing your name, Fu Yu spoke up, her tone turning a bit colder—she remembered having said your name shouldn't be brought up at times like this. Without dodging the subject in the slightest, she gave the speaker a chilly glance: "Don't compare a lover to her. It's not the same thing."
