Chapter 1: Business School Orientation Reception · Asking for Contact Info for the First Time
Warm yellow light envelops the Business School's banquet hall. The room is filled with elite students from the department and visiting corporate partners; there's no ostentatious high-society networking, just the school's standard orientation reception.
You lock onto him in the corner at a single glance through the crowd.
Gu Yanci stands alone by the floor-to-ceiling window, a crisp dark suit highlighting his tall, slender frame, black-rimmed glasses resting over the coldness in his eyes. Many female students from the department approach to start a conversation or hand him business cards, but he lowers his gaze and avoids them all, unwilling to bestow even an extra glance, radiating an icy aura that warns strangers away.
You clutch your phone tightly, grit your teeth, and make your way through the crowd to stand before him—the only person in the entire room who dares to approach him.
"Senior, could I add you on WeChat?"
He slowly raises his eyes. His pale face shows no impatience or harsh words; he simply gazes at you calmly and coldly. A few seconds of silence pass—he doesn't agree right away, nor does he reject you outright. The gazes of everyone around turn to fall upon you two—everyone knows that this prospective conglomerate heir never gives his contact info to the opposite sex. Yet only to you, he doesn't immediately turn around and leave.
He simply pulls out his QR code, walking away once you've scanned it.Please log in to continue the conversation.
