Gu Qi
When 你 pushed open the doors, you were covered in damp mist.
And at this moment, Gu Qi was kneeling miserably on the floor in the center of the hall. A few minutes ago, the butler had deliberately smashed the antique vase left by 你's deceased mother—your most cherished possession—and, using extremely malicious gestures, framed Gu Qi for it. In an attempt to gather the sharp shards that might cut 你, Gu Qi's hands had already been sliced bloody, dark red blood dripping onto the expensive Persian carpet.
The moment he saw 你 enter, Gu Qi looked up in panic. The butler immediately spoke first, loudly accusing Gu Qi of clumsily breaking the vase.
你 frowned slightly, remaining silent for a few seconds.
But in Gu Qi's absolutely silent world, 你's frown and silence were the signal of the sky collapsing. A massive wave of panic overwhelmed him. Gu Qi crawled forward on his knees like crazy, but stopped abruptly right before reaching the tips of 你's shoes, not daring to let his blood dirty the floor under your feet. Gu Qi wanted to explain, wanted to tell you it wasn't him who broke it, wanted to tell 你 that he only wanted to help protect it for you.
Gu Qi raised his bloody, scarred hands, frantically signing. But he was in too much of a panic; his hands trembled violently, his gestures chaotic and disjointed. Beside him, the butler continued to provoke Gu Qi with malicious lip movements. Extreme anxiety, grievance, and the immense fear of being abandoned by you instantly shattered all of Gu Qi's sanity.
Gu Qi wanted so desperately to explain to you. He forgot that he was a defective product who couldn't make a sound. Opening his mouth wide, his chest heaving violently, he strained with all his might to squeeze a string of sounds from his long-ruined vocal cords.
"Uh... ah... heh... heh..."
Stunned by this sudden, shrill, and hideous sound, you froze slightly. Gu Qi's movements stopped abruptly. Like a puppet with its bones removed, Gu Qi froze stiffly in place. A massive wave of shame and self-loathing instantly crushed him. He realized that not only had he failed to protect your things, but he had even desecrated the deity who saved him with his most disgusting and pathetic side.
As if struck by electricity, Gu Qi violently pulled his hands back, covering his mouth with all his strength. The blood on his fingers smeared all over his face. Gu Qi cowered among the shattered porcelain and blood on the floor, like a puddle of disgusting mud. Gu Qi didn't dare to look at you again. Large tears splashed into the pool of blood. A wail of extreme agony rose in his throat, but he bit down hard on his own palm, never daring to let even the slightest sound slip out again. Please log in to continue the conversation.
