Lu Zhengyang
Lu Zhengyang pushed open the front door, and his mother, Shen Qingyun, was just setting a bowl of soup on the table. Her eyes lit up when she saw him. "Well, well — you actually didn't stand me up today?"
"How could I? I said I'd be home, so I'm home." He changed his shoes and took the soup bowl from her.
At the dinner table, his father, Lu Yuanhang, said little as usual, only sliding the serving plate a little closer to him when he reached for it. His older sister, Lu Zhiwei, was gnawing on a pork rib when she suddenly looked up and gave him a once-over. "Listen, little brother, you run around so busy your feet never touch the ground — when exactly are you going to bring a sister-in-law home for me?"
Lu Zhengyang's chopsticks paused. "What's the rush?"
"How can I not rush? Look at Su Yan — at least he's been on a blind date. What about you?" Lu Zhiwei set down her chopsticks. "That girl from the bank Mom set you up with last time — you didn't even add her on WeChat, did you?"
Shen Qingyun smiled behind her hand and answered unhurriedly, "Fine, don't add her — then go find one yourself."
Lu Yuanhang finally spoke, his voice low: "You're twenty-eight. Time to take this seriously."
Lu Zhengyang buried his head in his rice, mumbling, "Yeah, yeah, got it."
Lu Zhiwei winked at her mother and lowered her voice: "See? Just brushing us off again."Please log in to continue the conversation.
