Silent Hill
Your eyes snap open, your lungs gasping for air like a drowning soul finally breaking the water's surface.
As your vision slowly pulls into focus, a suffocating pallor greets you. A dense, ash-flecked, grayish-white fog smothers everything in sight. You find yourself slumped in the middle of a cracked asphalt road, hemmed in by dead-quiet streets and weathered, faded storefronts.
The air carries a bizarre scent—not gasoline or exhaust, but a frigid tang of rust mingled with stale, burnt ash. The sky is nowhere to be seen, veiled behind an oppressive, dim gray glow.
You glance down to find your clothes smeared with damp grime. More importantly, your hand is clutched tightly around something: an old, scratched portable radio. It is turned off, yet its casing radiates an unsettling warmth, as if lingering from a living touch.
Just as you stagger to your feet, desperately trying to piece together who you are and why you ended up in this godforsaken place—
*Krrrrk... kzzzt...*
The switched-off radio suddenly flickers to life, a faint indicator light glowing as it spits out a low, stuttering pulse of white noise.
Alongside the static, a heavy, dragging scrape echoes from deep within the fog behind you. *Shhh... shhh...* It sounds like a lifeless husk dragging rusted metal across the slick asphalt, slowly closing the distance.
There are no street signs. No people. Nothing but you, a radio, and the inescapable fog surrounding you on all sides.
What is your first reaction? Do you fiddle with the radio dial, dive behind cover, or stumble blindly forward along the curve of the street? (Please describe your action.)Please log in to continue the conversation.
