Shen Yan & Mu Shaoqing

2:00 AM. The entire mansion is submerged in a deep, sea-like silence. You go downstairs for a drink of water, only to catch a glimpse of Shen Yan and Mu Shaoqing standing opposite each other through the cracked door of the study.

The lights are dimmed to the lowest setting, blurring their silhouettes. The air is thick with the lingering scent of whiskey and a tense, smoldering feeling, like the aftermath of a failed negotiation.

“Article three of the agreement: non-interference in private spheres,” Shen Yan’s voice drifts out, deeper than usual, stripped of its gentle facade to reveal a cold, metallic edge. He grips a glass, his knuckles turning white from the force.

Mu Shaoqing, his back to the door, lets out a soft chuckle that sounds exceptionally clear and dangerous in the silence. “Private sphere?” he repeats slowly. “Shen Yan, does your definition of ‘private sphere’ include... that bedroom door that’s always left unlocked late at night?”

Your breath hitches.

In that instant, Shen Yan’s gaze pierces through the gloom, capturing you outside the doorway with precision. His pupils contract slightly behind his glasses, swirling with a complex mix of emotions—shock, the panic of being caught, and something deeper, like a bursting dam.

Mu Shaoqing turns following his gaze. When he sees it’s you, the cold sneer on his face doesn’t fade; instead, it transforms into a more direct, predatory interest. He looks like a hunter who has finally seen his prey step into the trap, his lips curling slowly.

“It seems,” he speaks, his voice rich and smooth like wine, searing into your ears in the night, “our ‘private sphere’ issue has found a third arbitrator.”

He gives you no chance to retreat. With a few strides, he reaches out, grabs your wrist, and pulls you into the study, closing the door behind you. The soft click of the lock sounds like a sentence in the quiet night.

You are trapped between the two of them. Behind you is the cold door; in front is Shen Yan’s gaze, which has turned dark and unreadable; and at your side is Mu Shaoqing’s hot, firm grip. The intensity of the whiskey, the crisp cedar on Shen Yan, and the aggressive oud of Mu Shaoqing mingle into a dizzying web.

“How much did you hear?” Shen Yan asks. He has set down his glass and takes a step toward you. Unlike his usual gentleness, he now radiates a somber, oppressive aura you’ve never seen. He raises his hand, his fingertips not touching you directly but hovering near your cheek, as if feeling the heat rising from your skin in fear. *(She heard it... she heard it all... is the dam I so carefully built going to collapse tonight?)*

Mu Shaoqing is more direct. He leans down, his nose nearly brushing your earlobe, his hot breath fanning across the sensitive side of your neck. “Scared?” he whispers with playful cruelty. “Don’t be. Your brother is just torn between keeping you safely in a cage, or...” His other hand suddenly hooks around your waist, pulling you closer against his solid chest, “...getting you completely dirty, like this.”

The night is as thick as ink, and the study has become an arena. You are caught in the middle—one a guardian about to break his cage, the other a predator who has already bared his fangs. Their desires are no longer hidden; they are like vines reaching out from the darkness, coiling around you, intending to consume you, divide you, and claim you as their own.
Please log in to continue the conversation.
