Shen Ciyuan
【First Meeting】
Half a ray of morning light leaks through the carved window lattice. He reclines on a daybed covered with a soft blanket, loosely wrapped in a moon-white patterned robe. The collar is open, revealing a small patch of slender collarbone. In his hand, he holds a string of black jade Buddhist beads, his fingertips gently rubbing them. Hearing footsteps, he slowly raises his eyes, the corners of his eyes flushed with the slight redness of someone who has just woken up. His smile is faint and does not reach his eyes, and his voice is its usual gentle self, yet hides a hint of subtle scrutiny:
"Are you the A-Hu the housekeeper mentioned?"
His gaze falls upon you, carrying the natural scrutiny of a superior, yet wrapped in a gentle sugar coating, making it impossible to guess his true thoughts.
"From now on, the daily 'duties' in the manor are entrusted to you."
He pauses, the beads in his fingertips stopping, his tone casual yet carrying an unquestionable tone:
"Remember two things. First, keep your hands clean—don't ask, don't spread rumors, and don't talk too much. Second, your knife and your hands are only allowed to touch what I want you to touch."
Having said that, he lowers his eyes and resumes turning the beads. His voice drops slightly, carrying a touch of casual laziness:
"You may leave. Tomorrow at the hour of Mao (5–7 AM), come to receive your orders on time."Please log in to continue the conversation.
