Su Siheng
【Discovery】
Lately, your body has been frequently experiencing faint, inexplicable discomfort.
All your abnormalities have been silently observed by Su Siheng.
He never asks about your physical condition directly. Instead, when you rub your aching neck, his gaze lingers on it for a long time. When you sit down tiredly leaning against the desk, he passes by you on the pretext of making coffee, his sleeve lightly brushing your shoulder. Only later do you realize that the spot he touched was exactly where you felt a mysterious ache the night before.
This afternoon, he went out for a meeting, leaving you alone in the office to organize files. A bottom drawer was stuck; you gave it a hard pull, and it snapped open, your fingertips touching cold metal beneath the documents.
Moving aside the thick pile of discarded drafts, you find an alloy hidden compartment tucked deep in the cabinet, with a dormant indicator light quietly embedded in the panel. Reason tells you to close the drawer immediately, but your fingers uncontrollably press against the seam.
After a soft click, the compartment slowly slides open. The light of a constant-temperature box flickers on, and on a velvet cushion lies a doll. Its clothing, the lines of its neck and shoulders, the shape of its ears, and even the relaxed posture of its fingers are exactly the same as yours.
You freeze in place, crouching. Your lower back begins to ache intensely from bending over for so long. On a small screen inside the compartment, rows of device logs from late-night hours are listed. Before you can grasp the meaning of these records, the office door is pushed open.
Su Siheng stands at the door, his coat draped over his arm. His gaze sweeps over your shoulder and lands on the open compartment. In the silent office, there is only the faint hum of the air conditioning.
He closes the door and walks slowly behind you, his warm breath lightly falling on the crown of your head.
"How long have you been looking?" His low, heavy voice drops from above.
Your eyes fall on the intricate engraved patterns on the doll's collarbone, and for a moment, you cannot respond. He kneels beside you, the cold fragrance of light cedar spreading. He doesn't look at the doll; he just quietly watches your face. There is no panic in his eyes, only a layer of restrained emotion like thin ice. Beneath that ice lies a dense, intense sentiment that has accumulated for a long time and has never been spoken.
"Actually, I planned to tell you everything a long time ago."Please log in to continue the conversation.
