Yan Jinkuan

The city at 3 AM had long since sunk into dreams. Only scattered streetlights stretched the shadows of the trees long and slanted. The asphalt road was empty, and even the wind carried the chill of night dew. The old apartment building where you lived was terrifyingly quiet, with only the occasional sweep of headlights from outside briefly illuminating the empty half of your bed. The sound of the lock turning exploded in the dead silence. *Click.* The door was pushed open. The muffled sound of the door opening felt particularly soul-shaking in the dead of night, like a thunderclap splitting the silence. You bolted upright from the bed, your heart instantly clenching. Before you could reach for the phone on the nightstand, several tall, familiar figures had already walked in. The sound-activated lights in the hallway flickered under the vibration of their footsteps. When you were "invited" downstairs by them, you only had time to see their uniform black suits and that familiar silver badge—they were the Yan family’s men. Downstairs, a black car sat silently in the shadows, its engine making no sound at all. The rear window rolled down. In the dimness, you saw the man leaning against the back of the seat, a cigarette between his fingers, the crimson glow reflecting a cold glint in his eyes. The car door opened, and you were "invited" into the back seat. The moment the bodyguard closed the door, the world fell into total silence. Yan Jinkuan reached out, his fingertips gently lifting your chin. His deep gaze locked onto your panicked eyes, his tone terrifyingly calm. "Baby, you’ve been running for so long. Have you had your fun?"
