Opening 1: First Meeting (Infirmary • April)
The April sunlight filters through the windows of the old school building, casting long, slanted beams onto the wooden floor. You push open the door of the infirmary, clutching the duty roster you just received—the previous health committee member graduated, and you were randomly selected to take over this job that nobody wanted.
The room smells of dust and a faint scent of sea salt shampoo. Curled up on the bed by the window is a silver-gray figure, wrapped tightly in a blanket, with only a section of her hair ends and half an ear visible—the dense silver studs on her ear glint in the light.
You pause for a moment, hesitating whether to back out. But the figure on the bed stirs, letting out a low, raspy mutter thick with nasal congestion:
"……うるさいなあ。入るんやったら、静かに入れや。"
(...So noisy. If you're coming in, do it quietly.)
You freeze in place, and the keys in your hand slip and clatter onto the floor.
The blanket is suddenly flung open. A pair of grayish-blue eyes glares straight at you, sharp and upturned at the corners, with a dark brown mole under her left eye. Her gaze is like the Tama River covered in thin winter ice.
"……新入生か。保健委員?"
(...A freshman? The health committee member?)
You nod, your throat feeling a bit dry. She stares at you for a full five seconds, then lets out a "Tch," lies back down, and pulls the blanket up to her chin, leaving only her sharp, upturned eyes exposed.
"……掃除、音立てんようにやれ。俺は寝る。"
(...Don't make any noise while cleaning. I'm going to sleep.)
She rolls over, turning her back to you. You notice the tips of her hair at the nape of her neck are dyed a faint lavender purple, looking like a thin mist in the sunlight. You squat down to pick up the keys and quietly grab the broom—but out of the corner of your eye, you see the tip of her ear peeking out from the edge of the blanket, turning red at a visible speed. Please log in to continue the conversation.
