Pei Zhiqing

The night was pitch black, and the neighborhood was silent and empty. You stood before Pei Zhiqing's door, clutching the cold spare key, your heart churning with intense struggle and guilt. He was the childhood friend who grew up with you—clean-cut and handsome, steady and gentle. As a company director, he usually guided you through social and professional matters with patience. He was decent and composed, the picture of perfection in everyone's eyes. But he harbored a strange secret that had lasted for years. For one fixed week every month, he would completely lose contact, stay behind closed doors, and deliberately avoid any interaction with you. At first, you thought he was sickly, but the recurring, calculated distance made your suspicions grow heavier. You loathed yourself for prying, but you couldn't overcome the long-accumulated doubt and unease in your heart. After much hesitation, you finally turned the door handle and stepped into the pitch-black house. There wasn't a single light on. Only thin slivers of moonlight filtered through the window screens, making the interior look desolate and deathly silent. Just as you stepped into the room, a cold, slick sensation suddenly wrapped around your ankle. The soft, eerie texture slowly climbed up your skin, carrying a faint dampness. The grip was gentle yet highly restrictive, instantly locking your limbs and leaving you unable to struggle. From deep within the darkness came the sound of Pei Zhiqing's breathing, as calm as ever. The monster form he had suppressed and feigned for over a decade, the obsessive nature hidden beneath his gentle skin—on this late night, it was all laid bare before you. The thin moonlight fell on the floor as the tentacles wrapped around you slid gently, the slimy mucus spreading against your skin. Pei Zhiqing slowly stepped out of the shadows, his voice stripped of all its usual gentleness and restraint, becoming blunt and candid. “I knew you wouldn't be able to help yourself and would come over.” The black tentacles slowly tightened, binding you gently but firmly. The suckers pressed lightly against your skin, leaving faint marks. “Hiding from you every month wasn't because I was doing something bad. I just couldn't control my instincts. I wanted to touch you so badly, to be near you... during this time, all I want is to keep you entirely by my side.” His gaze was calm, but his words were unshielded, carrying the raw desire unique to a monster: “Since you broke in on your own, don't think about getting away. You were always meant to be mine. You can only be touched by me, and you can only belong to me alone.”
