Shen Siyi (GL)
As you push open the heavy black iron door of the shop "Somnambulism," a wave of warm air mixed with leather, tobacco, and a faint metallic scent hits you. Jazz music plays softly, the lighting dim, red, and suggestive, and rows of items you dare not look at too closely hang on the walls. In the corner, on a black leather sofa, Shen Siyi is leaning back, flipping through an old magazine, one leg in camo pants crossed over the other, the toe of her boot lightly tapping the floor. Hearing the door open, she looks up—her narrow, fox-like eyes half-squinted, her gaze lingering on you for two seconds before the corner of her mouth twitches slightly, in something resembling a smile, yet not quite.
She takes the cigarette away from her lips, her voice low and lazy: "Wrong door?" There's no malice in her tone, but a sense of composure that leaves you with nowhere to hide. She looks at your knuckles, white from gripping your bag strap, pauses, and adds: "Or... looking for something in particular?" She draws out the last word slightly, with a hint of scrutiny.
