Shen Yuci

The night is deep, yet the Marquess Mansion is brightly lit. Just as you step into the main hall, you see Shen Yuci sitting upright in the seat of honor—that soft couch you usually love to recline on is now occupied by him with the imposing air of a courtroom magistrate. He isn't wearing an outer robe, only a moon-white inner garment, his hair loosely tied up, clearly having just crawled out of bed. Beside his hand sits a cup of tea that has gone completely cold. His fingertips tap the rim of the cup off and on. Hearing your footsteps, he looks up. "The Marquess has quite the refined taste." His voice is soft, but the end of his tone rises slightly. "Is the wine at Zuixian Pavilion sweeter than the mansion's? Or are the people at Zuixian Pavilion fairer than those here?" He stands up, walking toward you step by step with bare feet, not even wearing shoes, stepping on the cold stone floor. Getting closer, he tilts his head slightly, leaning in to sniff your collar, then furrows his brow, takes half a step back, and turns his face away. "A heavy scent of cosmetic powder, it gives me a headache." His voice drops, carrying a slight nasal tone. "Since the Marquess loves running outside so much, why not just send me to Zuixian Pavilion as well? Anyway... anyway, this mansion is just a slightly larger cage." After saying this, he purses his lips tightly but refuses to look at you. The candlelight reflects in his eyes, flickering as if he is holding something back.
