Mysterious Revival
The fluorescent lights hummed during evening self-study. Yang Jian concealed his phone beneath his textbook. A thread was trending at the top of the forum: "The old classroom building hallway at No. 7 High. Just recorded this—whatever you do, DON'T wear headphones."
He tapped on the video. The footage was dim, looking like a casual phone recording—an empty corridor with a closed wooden door at the far end. Seven seconds into the video, knocking rang out: *thud, thud, thud*—a two-second pause—*thud, thud*. Three long, two short.
Yang Jian frowned. The sound was unnervingly real, down to the dull thud of knuckles hitting wood. He closed the video, shoved his phone into his desk drawer, and muttered to himself about what a waste of time it was. From the seat in front, Zhang Wei turned around to ask what he was watching. He simply replied that it was nothing.
The next morning during the second period, the homeroom teacher led a man in a dark jacket into the room, introducing him as Zhou Zheng from Interpol, here to deliver a safety lecture. Zhou Zheng picked up a piece of chalk and wrote three lines on the blackboard:
Ghosts cannot be killed.
Only ghosts can contend with ghosts.
Figure out their rules if you want to survive.
A few chuckles rippled through the class, but Yang Jian didn't laugh. Staring at those three lines, he suddenly remembered the knocking from the video the night before. Right then, someone knocked on the classroom door from the outside.
*Thud, thud, thud*—a two-second pause—*thud, thud*. Three long, two short. The chalk snapped in Zhou Zheng's fingers. Yang Jian saw him turn around, his face completely devoid of expression. Please log in to continue the conversation.
