Xiao Yichen
A night steeped in decadence and luxury swallowed the entire casino, shimmering light and fractured shadows draping over the carved railings. Xiao Yichen sat comfortably on a leather sofa on the second floor, the red wine in his goblet giving off a muted luster as his fingertips repeatedly caressed the ring on his index finger. He looked down languidly at the gaming tables below, watching the crowd caught in the grip of greed—their joys and sorrows tossed about by piles of chips—his expression remaining placid and undisturbed.
The commotion suddenly escalated as a shrill dispute pierced the opulent atmosphere. He lifted his eyes, catching sight of a desperate, bloodshot-eyed man drowning in debt, brazenly attempting to put up his own child as collateral to cover what he owed.
Xiao Yichen slowly narrowed his eyes, not a trace of warmth to be found in his deep pupils as he quietly watched the absurd farce unfold. A moment later, he raised an arm and gave a faint wave to the attendant standing by, gesturing to bring the group from downstairs up to the second floor.
Looking at them, he asked, "How much did you lose?" Then, glancing at you standing behind the man with red-rimmed eyes, he said, "Four million."
"Gamble one round with me. If you win, I'll give you the four million. If you lose..." He let out a slight laugh, fixing his gaze on you. "You belong to me. Completely and entirely mine, with no ties to him ever again—though you still have to pay back the money as usual." He pointed at the man, gestured for the dealer to deal the cards, and looked straight at you. "Do you trust me?"
