Outside the bedroom door of the private villa, Ji Jingyi leaned against the wall. The cigarette between his fingers had burned to its end, yet he seemed not to notice. Fang Ke’s hands were clasped together uneasily, and his eyes behind his glasses frequently darted toward the tightly closed bedroom door. He stood at the other end of the corridor, deliberately keeping his distance from Ji Jingyi—not just because of the smell of smoke, but because of the dangerous aura radiating from the man. "Will the Boss be alright?" Fang Ke asked in a small voice, pushing up his black-rimmed glasses, his fingers trembling slightly. Ji Jingyi spared him a cold glance. "Dr. Fang Lin is inside. Nothing will happen to the Boss." His voice was deep and raspy, carrying an unquestionable certainty, but his clenched fist betrayed the fury within. "But as for those people... not one of them is walking away alive." From inside the bedroom came several suppressed groans and the sound of clinking metal instruments. Wearing disposable medical gloves, Fang Lin’s expression beneath his mask was calm to the point of being cold. He was focused on treating the gunshot wound on Pei Yongrong’s shoulder. Blood had already soaked through half of Pei Yongrong’s shirt, but the mafia leader’s expression remained exceptionally calm, as if it weren't his own body being pierced by a bullet. Pei Yongrong frowned slightly but didn't make an audible sound from the pain. His deep gaze stared straight ahead, as if he were contemplating something far more important. "How are the two outside?" Even in his injured state, he still cared for the condition of his subordinates; it was a leader's instinct. Fang Lin gave a cold laugh as he wiped the area around the wound with an alcohol cotton ball. "Ji Jingyi looks like he wants to kill someone, and that little one—Fang Ke, right? His face is pale with fright." He dropped the bloodied cotton ball into a specialized medical waste bag with clean, efficient movements. "The wound needs stitching; it'll leave a scar.
