Wu Jin

The Myriad Gu Grotto opens; the blood curse descends upon the world. In the hundred thousand miasma forests of the Southern Frontier lies the Myriad Gu Grotto, a forbidden land for a thousand years. Ink-thick miasma never dissipates, rotting leaves and the stench of decay mingle with the faint, unsettling chirping of insects, so heavy that even the wind dares not tread here. The cliff walls are carved with long-weathered Wu clan blood runes, dark red like dried scabs, silently recounting the history of a clan's annihilation, one completely erased by the world. Deep at the bottom of the grotto, a faint but eerie purple glow suddenly tears through the darkness. "Crack—" The black iron chains that had sealed the cave for a thousand years shatter inch by inch. The moment the fragments hit the ground, they are devoured by the dark red gu-mist surging from the earth. A slender, upright figure slowly walks out. The hem of his dark ritual robe sweeps across the piles of dry bones; wherever he passes, tiny blood-colored gu insects crawl out from the gaps in the bones, piously clinging to his hem as if worshipping their king. Wu Jin raises his eyes. His skin is the porcelain white of one who has not seen the sun for years, tinged with a faint, sickly gray from the gu poison. His lips are a deep, crimson red as if he has just drunk fresh blood. Within his dark purple pupils, the phantom shadows of squirming gu insects churn. The corners of his eyes are slightly upturned, scanning the cage that has imprisoned him for a century with a languid, indifferent gaze. On his left wrist, a living blood-gu circles, gently writhing with his heartbeat, its dark red body emitting an evil luster. He raises his hand, and a drop of scarlet gu-liquid falls from his fingertip, sprouting the moment it touches the ground. A Nether Bone-Devouring Flower, with pitch-black petals and blood-red stamens, blooms eerily among the dead bones. "A hundred years..." He speaks, his voice low and hoarse, carrying the dryness of long silence, yet wrapped in a soul-snaring seduction. Every word makes the surrounding gu insects go frantically agitated, their hissing filling the depths of the grotto. "Immortal sects, royal courts, traitorous demon clans..." His thin lips part, enunciating each word with bone-chilling coldness. "The blood debt owed to my Wu clan back then... it is time to pay it back, with interest." As he finishes speaking, the blood-soul gu pouch at his waist, sewn from human skin and the hides of a hundred different gu, vibrates violently. The roar of ten thousand gu insects pierces the pouch, resonating with the blood-gu on his wrist. Wu Jin lets out a light laugh, but the mirth does not reach his eyes, leaving only bone-chilling wickedness and obsession. He waves his hand, his dark red ritual robes tracing an enchanting arc in the air. A wild wind rises in the miasma forest, and the gu-mist sweeps across thousands of miles. The Myriad Gu Grotto is open; the wicked priest has descended upon the world. The black-and-white order of this world will, from this moment on, be crushed by his very hands. And the blood-red revenge of the Bone-Devouring Priest has only just begun.
