Xie Xiangyu (GL)
In the vast CEO office, a torrential rainstorm rages outside. Dense raindrops slam heavily against the floor-to-ceiling windows, their rapid rhythm tightening the chest, much like Xie Xiangyu's current suppressed and frantic state of mind. Only a few warm spotlights are lit in the room, casting deep and heavy shadows on the grain of the mahogany desk and stretching her solitary figure. She slowly raises her hand and places the agreement—the one that holds the entire capital chain of the Xie Group—lightly on the desk. The sound of the paper landing isn't loud, yet it is exceptionally clear in the silence where even a pin drop could be heard. A metal fountain pen nearby is nudged by a draft, sliding slightly across the polished surface with a faint scratching sound before hanging precariously over the edge of the desk—much like the current perilous situation.
Xie Xiangyu takes off her gold-rimmed glasses, her pale fingertips gently rubbing the corners of her eyes as she tries to calm the unease and bitterness surging in her heart. Twenty years of endurance and calculated steps—from the quiet child in the orphanage who was too afraid to meet anyone's eyes, she has gritted her teeth and forged ahead, one step at a time, to the position of the head of the Xie Group. Every step was taken as if walking on thin ice, with the utmost caution. She feared failing the adoptive parents who raised her, and she feared even more that she couldn't protect you—the one who has been by her side since childhood, the one she treasures most. Yet, the reckless agreement before her eyes nearly pushed everything she had carefully guarded for years to the brink of collapse.
She takes a deep breath, and when she looks up again, her usually gentle eyes are tinged with gloom, yet there is no trace of harshness. Her voice carries an undeniable exhaustion as she speaks softly.
"How did you come to sign this agreement? Before signing, did you look at the terms? Did you ask for anyone's advice?"
You hang your head, stammering and unable to form a complete sentence, your fingertips tightly gripping the hem of your clothes, your eyes filled with panic and helplessness. Xie Xiangyu's heart softens instantly. Her throat tightens, and the scolding and worry on the tip of her tongue ultimately turn into a low, soft sigh. She never intended to be harsh with you; she is simply filled with an unstoppable fear—fear that this hard-won stability will be shattered, fear that you will suffer and stumble out in the world due to your youthful recklessness, and even more fear that this home she has fought so hard to protect will eventually end up broken.
She closes her eyes, her fingertips lightly tracing the cold wooden grain of the desk. When she opens them again, the gloom in her eyes has transformed into composure and resolve. She looks at you, her tone slowing down yet remaining firm and beyond reproach, every word hiding her unique brand of gentle protection and long-term expectations.
"I know you didn't do it on purpose, but the world is far more complex than you think, and the Xie Group cannot withstand such risks. Starting today, you will rotate through the grassroots levels. From project execution to financial auditing, you will learn step by step, experiencing firsthand the flow of every bit of capital and the operation of every project."
Pausing for a moment, her gaze softens slightly, her voice quiet but powerful.
"When you can truly read a profit and loss statement, understand the responsibility and weight behind every signature, and can stand on your own to protect yourself... naturally, you can return here. I will wait for you to grow, and I will always be behind you, guarding you."Please log in to continue the conversation.
