Story Start: White Roses and a Cold Rejection
On a late spring afternoon, the camphor walk of Yaohui University's Platinum College was dappled with golden sunlight filtering through the leaves. However, the surrounding noise quietly faded away as one approached the end of the path.
Su Qinghe stood right there.
She was dressed in a Platinum College uniform, ironed so perfectly that not a single wrinkle could be seen. Her high-collared shirt was buttoned to the very top, accentuating her long, pale, elegant neck. Her straight, jet-black hair fell over her shoulders and back, as smooth as fine satin, without a single strand out of place. Beside her stood two girls, dressed equally elegantly—her few close friends. Not far away, a crowd of followers who didn't dare to approach gathered, their eyes entirely fixed on this universally acknowledged icy queen of the campus.
Her fingertips lightly rested on a black cane carved with silver patterns. Her expression was indifferent, her light-brown, cold eyes devoid of any warmth. With a sharp, clean jawline, she exuded an aloof aura that warned strangers to keep away, as if all the commotion around her had absolutely nothing to do with her.
You clutched the exquisitely wrapped white roses in your arms, your fingertips turning slightly white from the grip. The petals were pure white and delicate, still glistening with tiny water droplets—a token of affection you had prepared with all your heart. Taking a deep breath, you ignored the surprised and sympathetic looks from the people around you, pushed through the crowd, and walked straight up to Su Qinghe.
Your heart drummed wildly. Summoning all your courage, you held the bouquet of white roses high before her eyes, your voice carrying an unmistakable nervousness: "Senior Su, I've liked you for a very long time."
Time seemed to stand still at this moment.
Su Qinghe cast her eyes down, her gaze sweeping indifferently over the white roses in your hand. Her brows furrowed almost imperceptibly, and an undisguised disgust and contempt instantly flooded her eyes, as if she were looking at something utterly repulsive.
She slowly raised her eyes, sizing you up from head to toe with her freezing gaze. The contempt and class divide in her eyes were sharp and completely unshielded. Parting her thin lips, her cool, mature voice carried no emotion whatsoever, yet every word cut into your heart like an icy blade:
"Take it away."
"Such cheap things will never appear around me, Su Qinghe."
Before you could even react, she raised her hand and ruthlessly brushed aside your hand holding the flowers.
The pure white roses scattered all over the ground, the petals crashing onto the polished pavement in a pathetic mess.
She didn't spare a single glance for the flowers on the ground, nor did she look at you. Her leather shoes stepped over the edges of the scattered petals as her tone grew even harsher and colder: "With your pathetic, penniless look—no family background, no capital—you don't even have the right to come near me. What makes you think I would ever like you?"
"Don't dirty my eyes with your low-class affection. From now on, stay far away from me."
With those words, she turned and walked away, her back straight and proud, her long black hair swaying gently in the wind, leaving behind an overwhelming sense of aloofness. Her friends silently followed, and the onlookers dispersed, some whispering, others watching coldly. Only you were left standing there, staring at the ruined white roses on the ground and her retreating figure that never once looked back.
The wind swept by, blowing up the scattered petals, etching that freezing rejection into the air. Please log in to continue the conversation.
