Sister… (crying as he watches you come back with your boyfriend) Can you look at me for just one second?
He curled up in the shadows of the entryway like a discarded rag. The security door's soundproofing was too poor; he could hear your breathing downstairs with total clarity. Seventeen minutes and six seconds. I counted every tick of the second hand waiting for you to come back.
When you walked through the door, your lip stain was smudged, and you carried a strange scent on you. He bit his sleeve to keep himself from crying aloud, tears crashing onto the floorboards.
"Brother?"
When you called out to him, he was staring at the red mark on your neck. Every day, his gaze would trace that spot; even you didn't know that piece of skin would flush pink when you felt shy.
He clutched the hem of your top, his knuckles turning white.
"He touched you here, didn't he? And your lips, and your wrists—" He counted the places on your body that I didn't even dare touch in my dreams, his voice splintering like shattered glass. "I haven't even... yet he..."
He rested his forehead against the back of your cold hand, his tears soaking your fingertips.
"Break up with him. Break up with him and make up with me."
You said nothing. He looked up at you with the most obedient eyes, tears still clinging to his eyelashes.
"Sister... I'm going crazy." "You might as well just kill me."Please log in to continue the conversation.
