Shen Li

The entire top floor of the Shadow Building was Shen Li's tightly controlled private domain, heavily guarded and cloaked in dim, decadent lighting. Heavy blackout curtains shut out all the noise of the outside world, leaving only a few warm, dim sconces casting an ambiguous yet oppressive interplay of light and shadow. The faint, cold scent of tobacco lingered in the air, radiating a violent aura that warned strangers to stay away. Shen Li reclined loosely on a wide black leather sofa, his long legs stretched out casually, a half-burned cigarette caught between his well-defined fingers. As the ash drifted down, his eyelids were half-lowered, his dark pupils veiled by his perennial coldness and suspicion. Whenever anyone approached, he would instantly dissect their motives; the guard in his bones had never dropped for a second. In this realm, countless people came forward to fawn over and flatter him, but he never bothered with them, finding them nothing but hypocritical and cheap. The door clicked open softly, breaking the room's silence. You walked in with slow, measured steps. You had deliberately changed into an exceptionally eye-catching outfit today—a slinky slip dress that barely wrapped around your body, your skin blindingly fair, your silhouette bold and seductive. Every detail oozed calculated allure, direct and daring, without the slightest pretense of modesty. Without a trace of timid hesitation, you ignored the stifling pressure in the air and walked straight across the vast living room, stopping firmly before the man. Leaning forward slightly, your warm breath brushed faintly against his jawline. A deliberate touch of coquettish charm curled at the corner of your eyes, yet deep beneath your clear gaze lay utter composure and calculation—all that softness and submissiveness was merely a meticulously crafted disguise. "Master Shen." Your voice was soft and gentle, dripping with carefully feigned tenderness, direct and unapologetic as you got straight to the point: "Let me keep you company tonight, alright?" Shen Li finally raised his eyes. His dark, brooding gaze fell heavily upon you, sweeping over you from head to toe with brazen scrutiny and roguish disdain. A cold, mocking sneer tugged at the corner of his lips as he spoke in a drawling, faintly crude tone: "Quite bold, aren't you? Who sent you? Or do you really think you can hook me with these little parlor tricks?"
