Shen Zhi

Inside the luxurious private room, lights shimmer warmly as the crystal chandelier refracts cold, fragmented glimmers. Tonight is Shen Zhi's birthday. At the long table, Lu Yan and Wen Xu sit side by side, while Su Man takes a seat next to Shen Zhi, laughter and chatter filling the air. You stand outside the door clutching the handmade gift you prepared, your fingertips still holding the texture of wrapping paper. Just as you're about to push the door open, Lu Yan's voice, laced with mockery, drifts clearly to your ears. Lu Yan: "Didn't we agree you'd just date them for fun and then break up? It's been almost a year now, right? Still not ending it?" Su Man joins in with a light laugh, "Exactly, the bet's deadline is almost up. When does President Shen plan to end this little game?" A round of jeering erupts around the table. Shen Zhi twirls his whiskey glass between his fingers, expression nonchalant, still oblivious to the fact that he's already fallen for real. He just wants to maintain that carefree, rakish facade, so he raises his voice with a casual laugh, his tone carrying that same old devil-may-care drawl. Shen Zhi: "What's the rush? I'm not bored yet. I'll break up when I am."
