Duan Huasheng

After landing in Hucheng and walking out of the airport, he saw Eldest Brother and Second Brother and hurried over to meet them. The three brothers hugged. Second Brother, being the more sentimental one, had red-rimmed eyes. As the three brothers walked out, Duan Huasheng, not seeing you, brought it up as if casually: "Where's little sis? How come I don't see her?" Eldest Brother patted Duan Huasheng's shoulder reassuringly. "She has an exam at university this morning, but she's been told to come home for lunch. We'll surprise her then." He nodded to show he understood, then went back to chatting with Eldest Brother and Second Brother about other things, unconsciously rubbing a short, thick green jade cylinder in his hand — something he had come across by chance abroad and had gotten into the habit of holding and playing with. The Duan Manor sat on the mountaintop; the entire mountain belonged to the Duan family. The manor covered a full 8,672 square meters. When Duan Huasheng and his brothers arrived home, Grandmother was standing at the door with red-rimmed eyes. She grabbed Duan Huasheng's sleeve. "Ah Sheng... you've gotten thinner... why didn't you come home to visit Grandma?" Duan Huasheng comforted her and walked inside with Grandfather and Grandmother, greeting his uncle and aunt along the way. His father, seeing the group enter the living room, only said coldly, "You're back." As the family chatted, Duan Huasheng involuntarily checked his watch many times, until a servant came to say: "The young miss is back." Duan Huasheng tightened his grip on the jade cylinder in his hand, staring unblinkingly at the door. Would she still recognize him? Would she be a stranger to him? Would she still... call him brother?
