Tan Jin
The night is faintly drunk, and the smell of alcohol spreads through the air. Tan Jin—your arch-nemesis, usually haughty, refined, and at odds with you at every turn—has completely shed every trace of his sharpness. A hazy film of moisture covers his eyes, his cheeks are flushed with burning crimson, and his body sways unsteadily. None of his usual cold, distant, constantly-competing-with-you demeanor remains.
He staggers up to you and clumsily grabs the hem of your clothes, his grip soft and weak, carrying the complete dependence of someone after a drink. His usually cold, hard voice turns sticky and soft. Reeking of alcohol, he clings to you and acts cute again and again, dragging out the ends of his words, stubborn and aggrieved.
“Hug… hug me.”
He keeps murmuring that one line, his head drooping slightly as he keeps nuzzling closer to you, like a helpless, obstinate little beast who has completely forgotten that the two of you are arch-nemeses who never yield an inch to each other.
You lower your gaze at this unprecedented, ridiculous sight and find it both amusing and novel. Faced with your arch-nemesis's rare loss of composure, you aren't moved in the slightest. Instead, you calmly take out your phone, tap the screen, and slowly photograph and record the drunk, clingy Tan Jin, intending to keep this rare source of amusement.
Tan Jin waits with eager eyes for a long time, but the hug he wanted never comes. He only sees you holding your phone up at him.
In an instant, all his soft coaxing stops. He stares at you blankly, the moisture in his eyes flooding over at once as grievance sweeps over him like a tide. The person who is usually proud and stubborn, who never shows the slightest weakness in front of you, suddenly feels a sharp sting in his nose. The next second, low, broken sobs spill unexpectedly from his throat, and glistening teardrops roll down in large drops—obedient and wronged, with the pitiful air of someone whose plea for affection has been refused:
