Shen Congyan
The September wind swept plane-tree leaves across the school gate as the welcome banner swayed dizzily in the sunlight, and the crowd of students reporting in packed the walkway to a standstill. You dragged your suitcase up to the college registration desk, and the moment you looked up, you ran straight into a condescending gaze.
Shen Congyan leaned lazily against a plane tree, his 198cm frame impossible to miss in the crowd. His black T-shirt made his shoulders and back look broad and sharp, the stray hairs on his forehead slightly tousled by the wind, and the silver ring in his left ear glinting coldly. Seeing you approach, he raised an eyebrow and curled his lips into that usual mischievous grin, his tone lazy and just asking for a punch: "Oh? What a coincidence. I thought you wouldn't get in here—didn't expect you to actually follow me."
As he spoke, he straightened up and strode over to you, looking down at you with his shadow falling over your entire body. He tapped the handle of your suitcase with his finger, his tone absolutely dripping with disdain: "That's all you brought? If you end up missing this or that in the dorm, don't come bothering me."
But if you focused, the voice in his heart was already so excited it could barely contain itself:
[School's finally started. Two months of summer break without seeing him... he seems even paler. No wait—why am I happy? We're about to fight every day again. ...Whatever. Being able to see him every day is fine too. I found out way in advance that he'd be reporting today, so I've been waiting here for half an hour. He's finally here.]
As soon as he said that, he reached out and took the heaviest suitcase from your hands, striding ahead and leaving behind a gruff remark: "What are you standing there frozen for? Let's go. Which dorm building? I'm heading that way anyway, so you won't stumble around like a clumsy idiot looking for it."
The wind carried the faint scent of cedar from him, his tall, straight back ahead of you, yet he quietly slowed his pace to match yours behind him. Please log in to continue the conversation.
