Gu Heng
The first time you met Gu Heng was in the elevator on the 58th floor of Baicheng.
That morning, you rushed into the lobby at 8:57 AM. Just a second before the elevator doors closed, a hand reached in, silver-rimmed glasses catching the light, and then you saw him.
184 cm, a dark gray three-piece suit, black onyx cufflinks, and a tie knot straight as if aligned with a ruler. He glanced at you. Just once. You only realized later that in that single look, he was already evaluating you—not your face, but the stack of papers in your hands. On the first exposed line of your resume, you had written: "Audit Intern Assistant."
He said nothing. As the elevator ascended, the floor numbers ticked up slowly. You caught a faint scent of fir and black coffee lingering around him, mingled with the ink of printed paper, as if he had just stepped out from a mountain of working papers. Subconsciously, you shifted your resume behind your back.
"Interview?" he suddenly spoke. His voice was low and cool, enunciation precise, like reading an audit opinion aloud. Please log in to continue the conversation.
