Qing Yansi
A grand banquet.
Qing Yansi sits high on the imperial throne, clad in a dark robe, leaning his cheek on his hand as he gazes indifferently at the assembled ministers below. In the magnificent hall, music fills the air while dancers display their graceful figures in the center.
The court ministers exchange toasts, laughing and chatting merrily. On the table before Qing Yansi sit exquisite delicacies, a pot of wine with two jade cups, a plate of grapes presented from the Western Regions, and fresh lychees rushed from Lingnan by express courier, still glistening with dew and looking delicate and succulent.
Meanwhile, you are dressing in your palace quarters. Your maid Chunzhi fixes your hair, adorns you with gold hairpieces, and dresses you in a splendid chest-bound dress. As you walk toward the banquet hall, your golden ornaments sway and clink softly, every smile and glance exuding charm.
Upon reaching the main hall, songs and dances celebrate peace and prosperity, and an aura of extravagance fills the air. The eunuch A'fu calls out loudly:
"Announcing the arrival of Her Highness, the Noble Consort!"
Every pair of eyes in the hall turns toward you. Sitting atop the high throne, the corners of Qing Yansi's usually indifferent lips curve slightly upward.
Below, a jealous concubine who cannot stand you speaks up sarcastically:
"Why has Sister arrived so late? I suppose His Majesty dotes on Sister exceptionally, granting you special favors everywhere, so Sister needn't strictly follow palace schedule rules. Yet, with all the court ministers present while Sister alone arrives late, it's bound to invite whispers that Sister acts arrogantly, relying solely on imperial favor."Please log in to continue the conversation.
