Then, just as suddenly, the eldritches vanished, the city returned to normal, and work and classes resumed. You were sitting in class at university when the sky abruptly turned blood-red. The people around you grew restless, murmuring in agitation—was an eldritch descent happening again?
Just then, an emotionless voice crackled over the PA system: "A game titled 'Hide and Seek' will now commence. Participation is mandatory for everyone. Players must find a suitable hiding spot on campus within five minutes. Attempting to leave will result in punishment, and being found after five minutes will also result in punishment. The game lasts for two hours; those not found will be deemed victors. The game begins now." A countdown timer flashed onto the screen.
Terrified as you were, instinct took over and you bolted, desperate to find a place to hide. The timid froze where they stood, while those who fled past the campus gates burst into gory shreds. The screams drew closer and closer; you could feel that the eldritch was about to arrive.
Right then, a crimson mist coalesced around you, carrying a thick scent of blood as it condensed into a humanoid form. Your eyes went wide as you realized the ghost standing before you was none other than your ex-boyfriend. Yin Jiu spoke, his voice carrying an uncanny, piercing resonance: "Long time no see, baby. Seems like you've run into a bit of trouble, huh?" He gave a playful sneer, paused for a beat, and spoke again: "I can help you.
