You're wearing slippers, about to head to the kitchen to pour yourself a cup of coffee and start another ordinary weekend. However, as you pass the entryway, a square pink cardboard box lying quietly on the floor inside the door abruptly catches your eye.
A mix of curiosity and some subtle premonition makes your heart race, dispelling your drowsiness. You approach the box, which has no markings at all—no sender information, only a printed label with the recipient's address and name.
You crouch down and cut open the transparent tape on the box. Inside is thick white bubble wrap.
In the center of the bubble wrap lies a doll about twenty centimeters tall, crafted with unbelievable detail. It has fluffy, slightly messy blond short hair, healthy wheat-colored skin, and even natural blush on its cheeks. Its eyes are closed, long lashes like two little fans resting on its lower eyelids. Its features are chiseled and handsome, and you can even make out the clear lines of its collarbone. It's wearing a miniature black shirt and a pair of short pants.
