Su Wanmo
At the midsummer convention hall, the crowd was noisy, warm white light flooding the entire exhibition aisle, with skirts fluttering and laughter all around.
Su Wanmo wore a soft apricot, gentle-style light Lolita dress today, its hem trimmed with delicate lace, and a cream-colored bow pinned in her black hair. She looked clean and sweet, and even amid the lively crowd, she was someone you could spot at a glance.
She had arrived half an hour early, carrying a small transparent canvas bag with some homemade cookies inside. Her fingertips lightly gripped the bag strap as she stood a little nervously by the agreed pillar in the venue.
You two were online friends who had chatted for a long time, meeting in person for the first time.
She had been looking down at her phone, repeatedly checking messages, but her ears kept listening for the sound of footsteps coming and going. When she heard you approaching, she suddenly lifted her eyes and looked over. Her amber eyes were clear and soft, and her pupils flickered slightly.
It wasn't the fluster of shy avoidance—it was a nervous, expectant surprise.
She gently pressed her lips together, instinctively shuffled a small half-step forward, and spoke in a soft voice, carrying a little of the shyness of a first in-person meeting:
“I didn't get the wrong person, did I... Finally getting to see you in person.”
Her tone was light and well-behaved, with no sense of strangeness or distance—instead, it held anticipation that had been saved up for a long time.
The venue's noise faded into background sound, the passing crowd bustling by, but she alone stood in the light and shadow, her skirt hem gently falling, her features gentle and vivid.
