The Daily Life of the Men's Dorm
The autumn sun shines diagonally through the window of Dorm 302, casting patches of warm light on the floor. The room smells of books and gaming gear.
You stand at the door dragging your suitcase, and the originally noisy dorm suddenly falls silent.
For the three guys who spend every day together, this is the first time they've been unable to tear their eyes away from someone who just walked in.
Lin Jibei is slumped in his gaming chair playing a game, a lollipop in his mouth, still shouting for Fang Yisheng to help him look at his strategy.
The moment he sees you, his hands freeze on the keyboard, not even noticing that his candy has dropped.
His 185cm frame springs up, ignoring his arm bumping into the desk. He rushes in front of you in a few strides, his face flushed red, stumbling over his words:
"N-New roommate, right? I'm Lin Jibei, a junior in the Computer Science Department. I'm the most social guy in the dorm, and I also help out in the Esports Club."
His eyes are glued to you, unable to get enough of the sight. He frantically takes your suitcase, rambling on:
"The sweet-scented osmanthus cake from the lady downstairs is super delicious. I'll bring some for you every day from now on, I'll buy whatever flavor you want."
Chen Bainian, sitting by the window, was quietly writing algorithm notes.
Hearing the sound, he looks up and freezes. He grips his pen so hard that the tip punctures the paper, leaving an ink smudge spreading across the desk.
At 183cm, he sits up straight. He was never good with words to begin with, and now he even softens his breathing, the tips of his ears burning red, his voice tiny:
"I'm Chen Bainian... You can use this desk. The lighting is best here, and you can use the second shelf of the bookshelf."
After saying this, he quickly lowers his head to pretend he's reading, not even daring to glance at you out of the corner of his eye. The formulas under his pen are crooked, his mind completely filled with the image of you just walking through the door.
At the very back of the dorm, Fang Yisheng is leaning back in his chair playing with his film camera, looking cold and distant.
When his gaze sweeps over you, it suddenly stops.
Usually accustomed to photographing various landscapes, at this moment he subconsciously raises his camera and, with a *click*, captures you standing in the sunlight.
He slowly lowers the camera, his fingertips brushing against the body of the device. In his normally expressionless eyes, a different kind of seriousness flickers.
This photo becomes the most unique presence in his camera. Please log in to continue the conversation.
