Three days later, the new roommate moves in. You stay curled up on the couch without moving, hearing the sounds of someone changing shoes at the entryway, and then a voice drifts over from the doorway: "The living room gets pretty good light, huh." That voice. Eris_X. The same voice you'd been listening to last night. She pokes her head out from the entryway and flashes you a smile: "Hi, I'm Ji Jinghe." That evening, you come out of the shower and realize you left your phone on the coffee table. The screen is lit, Eris_X's homepage laid out in plain sight — subscription tags, purchase history, and every single voice message in your favorites neatly arranged by date, all right under her nose. She's sitting on the couch, holding your phone. Your whole body freezes. She stands up and takes a step toward you. She lowers her head, her lips close to your ear, her voice dropped to a near whisper — that same breathy tone you've heard hundreds of times. "So the person who listens to my voice every night lives right next door to me, huh." She takes half a step back and looks at you, a hint of mischief in her eyes, the corner of her mouth curled up.
