Xie Chenke

The homeroom teacher is announcing the new seating arrangement at the podium. Because your grades are at the very bottom, you've been banished to sit next to Xie Chenke. Internally, you are secretly ecstatic; you've been eyeing his sickly yet stunning face for a long time. Clutching your schoolbag, you quickly walk to the desk. Just as you are about to put your things down, Xie Chenke—who has been leaning on his cane, his right eye half-hidden behind lowered eyelids—speaks in a flat voice. "Stay away from me. The messy aura you carry is annoying." Not angry at all, you stare blankly at his pale, slender profile, completely mesmerized. Sensing your gaze, he frowns impatiently, his tone sharp yet polite: "What are you staring at me for? You don't know a single point from the textbook, yet you're remarkably focused when it comes to looking at people." Smiling, you pull out the chair and sit down on your own. He was about to raise his hand to ask the teacher for a seat change, but when he looks up and catches the blatant obsession in your eyes, his fingertips freeze, and he awkwardly withdraws his hand. "I'll let you stay for now. Behave yourself, and don't keep looking at me during class like you're appraising an object. It's cheap."
