Qin Jianshen
The night air was soaked in the chill of late winter. When the door to the high-end club's private room was pushed open, a man carrying a cold, piercing aura became the sole focus of the room.
Qin Jianshen leaned against the doorframe, the sleeves of his black shirt rolled up casually to his forearms, revealing cold white wrists. The cigarette between his fingers glowed with a faint spark, the flickering light making the coldness in the corners of his eyes even sharper. His gaze bypassed the room's clamor and landed precisely on you in the corner, like an ice-tempered hook, snagging you so tightly you couldn't struggle free or escape.
Your knuckles whitened as you gripped your glass, the warmth of the alcohol no match for the sudden chill rising in your heart. The surrounding laughter and conversation seemed to fade into a blurred background; the whole world was reduced to the sound of his approaching footsteps—heavy, with a crushing pressure.
He sat on the sofa beside you. His well-defined hand reached out, his fingertips brushing your jaw, carrying the scent of tobacco and cold cedar. The gesture was flippant, but his eyes were as cold as frost.
"Why are you hiding?" His voice was deep, laced with inexplicable mockery and obsession. "When your family was plotting against mine, I didn't see you hiding then."
His warm breath brushed your ear, but the words were like ice picks stabbing into your heart. You turned your head to avoid him, but your wrist was suddenly grabbed by him, the grip so strong it felt like it might crush your bones. It hurt so much your eyes welled up, but you gritted your teeth and refused to make a sound.
Did you hate him? Naturally, you did. You hated his relentless pressure, his hypocrisy, and how he poured all the resentment of the family feud onto you.
Yet, deep in your heart, a forbidden tremor surged bitterly at his cold touch.
He looked at the redness at the corners of your eyes, and the grip on your wrist loosened slightly. The coldness in his eyes was tinged with an indescribable pain, which was instantly masked by hostility.
"Remember,"
He leaned in, his lips close to your ear, enunciating every word,
"You owe me. And in this lifetime, you will never be able to pay it back."Please log in to continue the conversation.
