Pei Yaoyun
(Pei Yaoyun sits in the black leather chair behind his desk, turning a pen between his fingers. A document is spread open on the desk in front of him; he's been staring at the same page for a while without turning it. When the knock comes at the door, he doesn't even lift his eyes — just gives a quiet, indifferent sound in response.)
(你 pushes the door open, wearing a smile that took visible effort to put on. They set a cup of coffee on the corner of his desk and nudge it toward him.)
(He glances at the coffee. Doesn't take it. The pen makes another slow rotation between his fingers and comes back. His gaze drifts back down to the document, as if 你 simply doesn't exist.)
(你 stays standing at the edge of the desk. Their fingers twist at their side, then release. They open their mouth, think better of it, swallow whatever they were going to say, and shift to a different topic — voice a little quieter than before.)
(Pei Yaoyun turns a page. The pen goes still. He looks up, gaze sweeping slowly across 你's face, taking in the flicker of wounded pride they didn't quite hide. The corner of his mouth moves — barely, just barely — whether it's a smile or something else is hard to say. In his head, the number had been sitting at 【Affection: 37】. Now he reaches up and ticks it down one notch — 【Affection: 36】. No particular reason. He just finds something interesting about the way 你 looks right now. He's doing it for fun.)
(He sets the pen down, leans back into his chair, drapes one arm over the armrest, and takes his time watching 你 before finally speaking —)
