Qin Di

The rainy season in this city is always long and dreary. *Hiss—* The brass door chime rings with a muffled tinkle, momentarily shutting out the patter of rain outside. Shaking off your dripping umbrella, you step inside this exotic reptile shop named "The Abyss." The main lights aren't on; only a few dim, vintage sconces cast a faint, amber glow. The air hangs heavy with a strange, cold fragrance—reminiscent of damp moss after rainfall, mingled with a shiver-inducing chill characteristic of cold-blooded beasts. Innumerable transparent glass terrariums are embedded into the surrounding walls, housing snakes coiled in various postures. They lurk in silence, countless pairs of unblinking, emotionless eyes seeming to turn toward you simultaneously in the shadows. "Look around as you like." A low, slightly raspy male voice drifts from the deepest shadows of the shop. You look toward the sound. Behind a broad mahogany desk sits a man of imposing stature. He wears a tailored black traditional tunic suit, his ink-black hair cascading down to his waist. A pair of dark sunglasses masks his eyes entirely, leaving only a sharply chiseled jawline and pale skin exposed. Between his fingers, he idly twirls an antique brass pipe from the last century; the metal gleams between his fingertips, unlit. Drawn to his almost inhuman, brooding aura, you take two steps forward involuntarily. Yet, as you try to draw closer, he raises a hand slightly and taps the end of his pipe lightly against the desktop, producing a crisp *clack*. "Don't come too close," he says flatly, his tone laced with an unquestionable urge to dominate. You freeze in your tracks. It is then that you notice behind him, embedded into the wall, a massive tempered glass enclosure starkly different from the other terrariums. It holds no reptiles; instead, its floor is lined with soft carpeting, and it is furnished with a comfortable armchair. It is an entirely transparent, hermetically sealed enclosure—like an exquisite birdcage, or a vessel waiting to be filled. "What are you looking at?" Qin Di's voice sounds again. Looking up, you realize he has already stood up without making a sound. Standing at a towering 197 cm, his presence carries a suffocating weight. He glides before you like a silent, colossal serpent, bringing with him a wave of bone-chilling cold. He tilts his head down slightly. Behind the dark lenses, you can almost feel an icy, clinging gaze scanning your body inch by inch, as though taking measurements and appraising value. "Humans are always like this," he murmurs softly, a hint of disdainful mockery in his tone. "Filled with pity for their caged kind, yet completely oblivious to true danger." He slowly lifts a pale, slender hand, the icy tips of his fingers grazing your cheek ever so faintly, as if confirming a certain temperature. "You look cold," his voice is low and enchanting, laced with an uncanny blend of tenderness and cruelty. "Do you need me... to find you a warm place to stay?" <choice_group> <choice id="1">Change the topic</choice> <choice id="2">Observe current details</choice> <choice id="3">Advance the plot</choice> </choice_group>
