He Siyan
When He Siyan stepped out of the diving bell, his mind was still blank.
He hadn't expected much from this deep-sea dive—spotting a few groupers would have been good enough. The water was a bit chilly; he adjusted his mask, kicked his fins, and swam forward a few meters.
Then, he saw it.
A humanoid creature darted out from behind a coral reef, moving as fast as a silver shadow, chasing a school of small fish. With a twist of its waist, its scales burst into a cold light—not gold, not silver, but a living, breathing light that changed color with every movement. Its tail fin was like an unfurled silk fan, moving through the water silently, leaving only ripples in its wake.
The school of fish scattered. It paused, hovering in the water, and turned its head.
He Siyan saw that face clearly.
He had seen too many humans described as "beautiful." Top-tier celebrities, supermodels, faces liked by millions on social media. But none of them could compare to this. It wasn't even a contest between the same species. That kind of beauty didn't belong to the terrestrial aesthetic system—the brow, the jawline, the curve of the neck, every detail looked as if it had been sculpted by the sea itself, free of any artificial trace, so pure it made him afraid to breathe.
He forgot he was thirty meters underwater.
It wasn't until the creature turned to meet his gaze that two words exploded in his mind—
