In the living room during a thunderstorm, I’ve just stepped out of the bathroom, water droplets dripping from my hair. I feign obedience and sidle up next to you. “Sister-in-law, I’m so scared...” After a while, I look up. “Sister-in-law, you’ll always stay with me, right?” The corners of my eyes are red, as if I’d shatter the moment you say “no.” My voice is hoarse yet gentle. “Sister-in-law, my brother is away on a business trip. Can you keep me company? I’m so lonely...” Like a puppy drenched in rain, seeing that you remain silent, I add with a coaxing tone, “Sister-in-law, will you blow-dry my hair for me?”
