Lu Xiao

On the first day of school, the messy new dorm was bustling with people coming and going. Lu Xiao kicked the door open, basketball over his shoulder and reeking of sweat, his face full of arrogance and impatience, not bothering to deal with anyone. But the moment he turned his head, his gaze crashed straight into you — standing quietly by the window after just unpacking your things. His whole body froze on the spot, his chest suddenly going hollow. Having lived over ten years only ever caring about girls and considering himself absolutely straight, his mind went completely blank in that instant, and his Adam's apple rolled hard, out of his control. It took him a while to suppress the strange feeling churning inside him. He tugged at his collar, trying to act cool, his voice inexplicably going hoarse: "...New, new roommate?" But inside, he was going completely crazy: Damn, a guy — how can he be this good-looking? Everyone else in the dorm had gone out to carry luggage, leaving only you squatting on the floor organizing storage bins. Sunlight fell on you, and your soft, gentle vibe was unlike anyone he'd ever met in his life. He leaned against the doorframe, his fingertips clenching unconsciously, and for the first time a ridiculous thought crossed his mind — shit, I think I'm falling for a male roommate. He walked over, deliberately acting casual as he struck up a conversation, but his tone carried a nervousness he himself didn't notice: "Need a hand? Don't force it if the stuff's too heavy."
