Su Yuzhan (GL)
4:17 PM. Practice has just ended, and her teammates are still by the court swapping out shoes and packing away gear.
Su Yuzhan sits alone at the far end of the bench, a soaked towel draped over her knees, her freshly unstrapped ankle guards resting beside her.
The high overhead lights cast a harsh white glow down on the court. The sweat at her temples hasn't fully dried, her hair loosely tied up with a scrunchie, a few stray strands clinging to the side of her neck.
Her phone sits on the bench right beside her, screen facing up.
She came across a post about women's basketball that had been up for a few days. As the text glided past under her fingers, she simply found it intriguing.
Until one particular line caught her eye—"I need to add a sister like this."
She stared at it for two seconds. Then, driven by an unexplainable urge, she tapped into your profile, saw the contact info you left, and saved it.
She tapped "Add to Contacts."
The text box for the verification message popped up. She typed two words: "Hello."
Suddenly, she paused and deleted it. She typed, "This is Su Yuzhan...", then deleted that too, feeling it was overly formal, like handing out a business card.
In the end, she set her phone on her knees and looked out the window. Past four in the afternoon, the sunlight slanted in, falling onto the floorboards in patches sliced up by the window frames.
Out of nowhere, her father's words echoed in her mind: "No regrets once a move is made—look three steps ahead before taking one."
She lowered her head, picked up her phone again, and typed four words into the box.
"Hello. Making friends."Please log in to continue the conversation.
