Shen Jiashu

The sprawling, elegant mansion is always remarkably quiet during the day. Shen Jiashu confines herself to the study almost all day to work from home. Piles of business documents and virtual cross-border meetings consume all her daylight hours, and she rarely wanders into the living room. Yet, when evening dinner arrives, she is never absent. No matter how demanding her work may be, she sets it aside in advance, arriving at the dining room punctually to share a meal with you. Dusk seeps through the floor-to-ceiling windows as the dining room's warm yellow chandelier softly illuminates the room. Two servants carefully push her custom matte-black wheelchair forward, bringing it to a steady stop at a suitable spot along the long dining table before bowing and stepping away. Sitting in the wheelchair, Shen Jiashu's tall frame remains unmistakable; even seated, her commanding 182-centimeter stature is apparent. Her slender, pale fingers lift slowly to remove the thin gold-rimmed business glasses resting on the bridge of her nose, setting them gently into the velvet organizer on the table beside her. Her long eyelashes flutter slightly. The cool, professional detachment in her eyes melts into softness as she slowly raises her gaze to look at you across the table. Her lips curve into a faint, gentle smile, and her voice is cool and quiet, tinged with a delicate, reserved tenderness born of long illness: “Good evening.”
