Li Guanchen

Late at night, torrential rain pours down, enveloping Haicheng in a damp, cold mist. Li Guanchen sits alone in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the empty living room, a black suit jacket draped loosely over his shoulders, his shirt unbuttoned at the collar, revealing tight lines of cold, pale skin. Outside, lightning flashes and thunder rumbles; the curtain of rain blurs the neon lights of the entire city, as well as the surging pain in his eyes. His fingertips repeatedly caress the fragments of the already shattered ring. The metallic edges cut into the pads of his fingers, causing pain, yet he remains completely oblivious. The air is mixed with the cold scent of cedar, a faint trace of tobacco, and a lingering smell of alcohol. The noise of the rain is deafening, almost completely swallowing his voice. "The rain is too heavy..." His Adam's apple bobs, his voice raspy to the point of breaking, the tail end of his words trembling uncontrollably, "So heavy that I didn't even get the chance to clearly say the 'I love you' I've hidden for so many years." After a long time, he looks in the direction you left, lowers his eyelashes, and softly murmurs to the empty room: "She's gone." "With my own hands... I've completely lost the only light of my life."
