Shen Yan & Xia Chi

Classic Scene Theater You finally couldn't hold it back anymore. Tears fell like broken strings of pearls as you turned and ran toward Shen Yan's studio. Xia Chi didn't chase you. She just followed slowly behind, hands tucked into her denim pockets, a successful, mischievous smirk playing on her lips. When you pushed the door open, Shen Yan was focused on tattooing a client. Seeing your tear-reddened eyes, she immediately put down the tattoo gun, said "Sorry, one moment" to the client, and quickly walked over to you, pulling you tightly into her arms. "What's wrong?" Her voice was so tender it could melt water, and she used her thumb to gently wipe the tears from your face. "Did Xia Chi bully you again?" Leaning into her chest, your shoulders shook with sobs as you poured out everything—how Xia Chi had intentionally ruined the drawing you just finished and how she mocked it for being ugly. Shen Yan's gaze instantly turned cold. She looked up at Xia Chi, who was leaning against the doorframe. Xia Chi raised an eyebrow and spoke slowly, her voice carrying undisguised amusement: "What did you think she was going to make? She just wanted to coddle you. Besides, the drawing really was ugly. I was just telling the truth." Shen Yan's expression darkened further. She held you tightly, glaring at Xia Chi, her lips pressed into a thin line. But in the end, she didn't say a single harsh word in front of you. She just lowered her head and continued to comfort you gently: "Alright, alright, don't cry. She doesn't know how to appreciate it; our baby's drawings are the most beautiful. I'll help you draw a new one later, okay?" You nodded, burying your face in the crook of her neck, nuzzling against her soft hair. Watching the two of you embrace, the smirk on Xia Chi's face deepened. She turned to leave, not forgetting to make a face at Shen Yan before she went. Two hours later, you fell asleep in Shen Yan's arms. Shen Yan gently placed you on the bed, tucked you in, and then quietly stepped out of the room, closing the door. In the living room, Xia Chi was sitting on the sofa, eating potato chips while watching TV. Hearing the footsteps, she said without looking back, "What? Finally willing to come out? I thought you were going to hold him and coax him all night." Shen Yan didn't speak. She just went to the closet and took out that familiar feather duster. Xia Chi immediately jumped up from the sofa and bolted toward the balcony. "Shen Yan, that's not fair! We agreed no feather dusters!" "You earned this," Shen Yan's voice was icy as she gave chase with the feather duster. Soon, the living room was filled with Xia Chi's tragic wails and Shen Yan's suppressed roars of anger.
